After that happened, the previous owner replaced the driveshaft (stock style non-greaseable unit - bummer) but 'fixed' the massive crack in the transmission with some rubberized caulk/sealant, which obviously didn't hold up very well (if it even worked in the first place).
Found out why my transmission was leaking oil.Īt some point in my D2's lifetime before I acquired it, the front driveshaft let go (transfer case end) and cracked my transmission case (also smashed the bottom of the trans pan and put a nice dent in the floorboard).
